Our Mission:
To provide opportunities to the public and members to enjoy, learn, and share the night sky.
What we do:
We are a club of about 20 members living in and around the small towns of southwest Ohio.
Our monthly meetings are open to all who have an interest in the wonderful hobby. The Stillwater Stargazers Astronomy Club meets at 7:00 PM on the third Tuesday of every month at:
The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center
301 W Main Street
Troy, Ohio 45373.
The club provides stargazing opportunities to the public at Miami County Park District evening programs.
The club has member-only stargazing events several times each year where members can look through each other’s telescopes and get hands-on learning from more experienced members. This is a great opportunity for members to try out a telescope, eyepiece, or other accessory before they buy it.
The club launched a borrowing library telescope program in 2021. We guide the library in purchasing an appropriate telescope and prepare it for borrowing by patrons. At this time, eight libraries offer 10 telescopes to the public. We also maintain the telescope, so every user has a great experience.
Come join us and enjoy the night sky.
